Gets the system buttons that are available on the input device.

Syntax

Parameters

This method has no parameters.

Return value

Type: GameInputSystemButtons A combination of GameInputSystemButtons flags that describes the system buttons on the device, such as GameInputSystemButtonGuide and GameInputSystemButtonShare. Returns GameInputSystemButtonNone if the device has no system buttons.

Remarks

System buttons are buttons that are often used for controlling the system rather than the game, such as the Guide button on an XBOX controller. In GameInput v4, system buttons are an ordinary kind of input (GameInputKindSystemButton). Readings from a device that has system buttons include their state, which you can retrieve by calling IGameInputReading::GetSystemButtonState. The set of supported system buttons doesn’t change for the lifetime of the device object. In GameInput v3 and earlier, this information was available from the supportedSystemButtons member of the GameInputDeviceInfo structure returned by IGameInputDevice::GetDeviceInfo.
