Gets the number of force feedback motors on the device.

Syntax

Parameters

This method has no parameters.

Return value

Type: uint32_t The number of force feedback motors on the device, or 0 if the device doesn’t support force feedback.

Remarks

Force feedback motors are addressed by a zero-based motor index that must be less than the value returned by GetForceFeedbackMotorCount. Pass the motor index to CreateForceFeedbackEffect, IsForceFeedbackMotorPoweredOn, and SetForceFeedbackMotorGain. Use GetForceFeedbackMotorInfo to find out which axes and effect types each motor supports. The number of motors doesn’t change while the device is connected. In GameInput v3 and earlier, this information was available from the forceFeedbackMotorCount member of the GameInputDeviceInfo structure returned by IGameInputDevice::GetDeviceInfo.
