# PFGroupsUpdateGroupAsync

> Updates non-membership data about a group.

Updates non-membership data about a group.

## Syntax

HRESULT PFGroupsUpdateGroupAsync(

    const PFGroupsUpdateGroupRequest* request,  
    XAsyncBlock* async  
)  
```

### Parameters

**`entityHandle`**   PFEntityHandle

PFEntityHandle to use for authentication.

**`request`**   [PFGroupsUpdateGroupRequest\*](https://docs.xbox.com/services/playfab/api-references/c/pfgroupstypes/structs/pfgroupsupdategrouprequest.md)

Populated request object.

**`async`**   XAsyncBlock\*\
*Inout*

XAsyncBlock for the async operation.

### Return value

Type: HRESULT

Result code for this API operation.

## Remarks

This API is available on all platforms. Updates data about a group, such as the name or default member role. Returns information about whether the update was successful. Only title claimants may modify the administration role for a group. See also GroupCreateGroupAsync, GroupDeleteGroupAsync, GroupGetGroupAsync.
